The journal was launched during the Presidency of Dr. Meharban Singh in 1993 at the National Conference at Calcutta, supported by Dr. R.D.Potdar, Immediate Past President and members of the Executive Committee of the year 1992. Dr. A.Parthasarathy, Dr. N.Somu, Dr. J. Balasubramaniam and others caught up with this idea and created this Journal. This journal in 1993 was started as IAP Journal of Practical Pediatrics with Dr. A.Parthasarathy as Editor-in-Chief. It made a good beginning in 1993 with the help of IAP and our readers. From 1993 to 1995 Dr. A.Parthasarathy did an excellent work which is the root of success of today's IJPP. In 1996, Dr.B.R.Nammalwar took over as Editor-in-Chief followed by Dr. M. Vijaykumar from 1999 who made IJPP a popular journal by their untiring work. IJPP of today is because of the work done by Dr. A.Parthasarathy, Dr.B.R.Nammalwar and Dr.M.Vijaykumar with their team.
