IAP RECOMMENDATIONS FOR IEC AND SOCIAL MOBILISATION

Information, Education and Communication must be continuously updated, should be an ongoing process and must have catching interplay of strategy, art and glamorization and dramatization. This must be constantly related to the feedback from beneficiaries.

IEC TO DOCTORS (Modular Format)
  1. Scientific material giving background etc.
  2. Suggesting that they are/and can be major partners in eradicating the disease.
  3. Personal message from their association’s leader.
  4. AFP Surveillance.
IEC TO HEALTH CARE PROVIDERS (CHWS,ENLIGHTENED VOLUNTEERS) (Modular Format)
  1. Basic Science.
  2. Mainly motivational.
  3. Training to pick up AFP Cases.
IEC TO MASSES (PARENTS & OTHERS) (Modular Format)
  • Catchy, Arresting, pictorial, graphic and constantly changing in design to sustain interest.
  • Use of Local popular persons, Local culture.
  • To motivate for going to nearest health facility in case of acute flaccidity developing in the child. INVOLVING AND ENLISTING HELP BY PROPER IEC
    1. School Teacher and Students.
    2. Medical representative and corporate.
    3. Community organization, Religious Leaders.
    4. Opinion Makers, Service Organizations, Local Politicians and Popular Heroes, Women Organization, Senior citizens.
    ROLE OF IAP
    NATIONAL : MOTIVATION OF MEMBERS USE OPORTUNITIES TO GO ON MASS MEDIA TO APPEAL TO MASSES THE IMPORTANCE OF EPI & PPI ASSIST GOVT/OTHER AGENCIES BY GIVING EXPERTISE
